Why Luis Enrique is PSG's biggest star

In this episode of The Athletic FC Podcast, hosts Ayo Akim-Walere, Sebastian Stafford-Bloor, and Tom Williams reflect on Paris Saint-Germain's (PSG) journey to their second consecutive Champions League final, having just drawn with Bayern Munich to advance. They analyze the game, emphasizing PSG's impressive defensive display that contradicted their previous reputation for solely attacking football. The conversation highlights how Luis Enrique’s coaching has fostered a more mature and adaptable PSG squad, capable of managing different game situations effectively.

Discussion turns to the final against Arsenal, with the hosts weighing the strengths and weaknesses of both teams. PSG, now seen as favorites, aim not just for victory but to establish a legacy by winning back-to-back titles, a rarity in modern football. The podcast concludes with a broader commentary on managerial trends, particularly in relation to British coaches, illustrated through Frank Lampard's recent experiences. Overall, the episode showcases PSG's transformations under Enrique and anticipates an exciting final against Arsenal.
