67: Daniel Barter

In June 1959, four-year-old Daniel Barter disappeared from a campsite in Perdido Bay, Alabama, while his parents set up for a fishing expedition. The Barter family, consisting of Paul, Maxine, and their seven children, embarked on this camping trip, which would ultimately lead to a tragic mystery. Early on June 17, Danny was last seen playing near the water, but his absence was quickly noted, prompting a frantic search by his parents.

The search grew to include thousands of volunteers, divers, and law enforcement from various jurisdictions. Despite their efforts, no traces of Danny were found, leading to the belief that he was abducted. Several disturbing incidents surrounding the family in the weeks prior suggested stalking, raising more concerns about Danny's safety and the likelihood of kidnapping.

The theory of abduction was supported by bloodhounds that tracked Danny's scent but lost it abruptly, indicating he was picked up by someone.
